Washington-on-the-Brazos is the historic site where the General Convention got together to sign the Texas Declaration of Independence on March 2nd, 1836. This is Where Texas Became Texas. Today, the 293 acres have become lush parkland where its visitors can visit and get an insight into the lives and times of the 50 delegates who met on that very spot. The site is currently undergoing a restoration to enhance this experience.
